The visual look of Go Back Fetch It is made up of distinct style elements that inform the story, and make commentary about the origins and evolution of communication, storytelling, technology, and the human race.

Adinkra Symbols

These symbols hail from the Akan people of Ghana. These symbols embody different aspects of humanity. 

The concept

The Sankofa

The main symbol of this project is the Sankofa. It means to "Go Back and Return It." This is the only Adinkra that has two symbols to represent it.

The idea of going back to fetch the past ended up being a main theme for the project that reached further than just going back and fetching our history. In fact, it informed every part of the visual style and technology execution.  

Charcoal Drawings

When deciding to "Go Back" to the beginnings of storytelling and communication, I couldn't help but end up at early cave charcoal drawings. This was the beginning of written storytelling and information transmission. The trigger images, as well as the entire experience is crafted to evoke this aesthetic.

The Parable of Eve is told through the use of character archetypes that are reminiscent of ancient epics and mythology.
